How to Reach
The Sriperumbudur is located at a distance of 30km from Arakkonam Railway Station in tamil nadu . This beach can be reached by either a public or a private transport. There is a bridge linking the island to the mainland which has to be crossed to and fro for entering and exiting the island
Place To Visit
The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial is a memorial to the former Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi at the site where he was assassinated at Sriperumbudur , Chennai Tamil Nadu. Designed by K T Ravindran, it was built by the Central Public Works Department and was opened up in 2003 by Gandhi’s widow Sonia Gandhi and former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam.
Vallakottai temple is located at distance of almost 10km from Sriperumbudur, Temple reversed in Thirupugazh composed by Arunagirinathar, a 15th- century saint. Is known for the tallest Lord Murugan statue in india (9m). The presiding deity is Lord Murugan, with his divine consorts Valli and Deivanai. It attracts devotees throughout the year from various of the state.
Sriperumbudur is the birthplace of Ramanuja. He is a famous saint and philosopher who played a prominent role for the Vaishnavism sect. a temple has been constructed where the divine idol of the saint was installed. The idol has been made of 5 metals like gold, bronze, silver, iron and copper. It iis known “Thamugantha Thirumani”
